Most Advanced Care

Providing World-class care

As more of the most critically ill patients in the region and nation come to The University of Kansas Hospital, we are frequently at full capacity – which means other patients needing sophisticated, specialized treatment must wait or travel far away.

The longer we waited to expand, the longer our patients would have to wait.

So we didn’t wait.

Cambridge Tower Phase I will add 92 beds and 11 surgical suites when it opens in November. Overall growth is projected to increase another 32% over the next three years and Cambridge Tower is expected to be almost immediately at capacity.

Once again, we didn’t wait to help more patients.

We planned an expansion during the expansion – adding four floors to the original design. Once fully equipped, Cambridge Tower Phase II will add 96 more beds, bringing total capacity at Cambridge Tower to 220.

While Cambridge Tower will house surgical oncology, neurology, neurosciences and ear, nose and throat services, the addition will expand access to all specialty areas of the hospital.

But we need your help to ensure more patients receive the lifesaving treatments they need – while staying closer to home.
