Kansas City Chiefs
Creating special moments within our community

Through our support of The University of Kansas Health System, the Kansas City Chiefs have found a mutually satisfying and beneficial relationship. Working together to establish The University of Kansas Health System Arrowhead Training Complex is just one example of how the two organizations collaborate. Not only do players train there, but part of the facility is devoted to a Sports Medicine and Performance Center, where the public – as well as the Chiefs – can receive advanced treatment for sports injuries.

“We have a partnership in the truest sense of the word, and we fully believe in the mission of The University of Kansas Health System,” said Tyler Epp, Kansas City Chiefs executive vice president of business operations. “Many of our goals for our community are the same. It’s just part of our culture.”

Since 2012, the Chiefs have supported the health system’s efforts in many ways. Through the presentation of the 101 Awards, the Chiefs have raised funds since 2016 to support concussion awareness and research. Another rewarding event is the Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Camp, said Epp. “We bring back Chiefs alumni, enjoy dinner and sponsor a daylong camp that is always a sellout,” he said. “All funds raised go to support concussion awareness and research.”

The Chiefs also work with the health system to support community youth sports and cancer research. “We believe in the authenticity of creating special moments for people who are going through difficult times,” said Epp. “Working with The University of Kansas Health System gives us even more opportunities to do that.
