STAR Fund: Employees invest in The university of kansas health system

The STAR Fund was created to help develop new patient-focused programs and purchase equipment, supplies and other items for patients and their families that are not covered in the health system budget. The grants are made possible entirely by employee contributions. A committee of health system employees decides how this money is spent and distributes the money annually, based on grant requests from health system units/departments. Since its inception in 2004, the STAR Fund has provided more than $450,000 to various programs, departments and units at The University of Kansas Health System.
